A luxury cruise isn't just about what happens on the ship. Of course, you'll love the plush rooms, the delicious delicacies, and the informative activities that can be found onboard any Seabourn cruise. But the off-shore excursions are also highlights. One recurring favorite is Caviar in the Surf. It's a magical, unique, and totally complimentary event that’s not to be missed. Here are six reasons why you need to go to the one at Carambola Beach on some of our Caribbean trips.

The Caviar

First, let's talk about the delivery method. While you're frolicking on a picture-perfect beach (we'll get there in a second), the Seabourn crew is working diligently behind the scenes to make a dramatic appearance. In the distance, you hear a rumble. You see a speedboat approaching. The crew disembarks, standing in waist deep water, and puts caviar and champagne on a surfboard. They begin serving you and your fellow passengers. You're having caviar in the surf. This is luxury at its most spectacular and special.

The Beach

Carambola Beach winds its way around South Friar’s Bay in Saint Kitts and Nevis. It's a stunning location, full of fluffy white sand and just a short hike from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Brimstone Hill Fortress as well as a historic sugarcane railway. Your excursion there is filled with comfortable lounge chairs and an exclusive area to chillax as you enjoy the beautiful day.

It's caviar. In the surf. With champagne and drinks and sand and sun and fun. What more do you need?

The Bar

Champagne isn't the only beverage on offer. Before the bubbly comes out with the caviar, enjoy a fully-stocked bar with your favorite spirits, fresh local fruit juices and more. Knowledgeable bartenders will mix and concoct drinks to your heart's every desire. A drink in your hand, the sun on your face: life doesn't get much better than this.

The Food

You know what pairs nicely with caviar? Lobster. And don’t worry, despite the name of the party, there are plenty of shucked lobsters at Caviar in the Surf. If large, delicious crustaceans aren’t your thing—no shame!—enjoy quiche and pastries as well as plates and plates of local fruits and more. Indulge while lounging on a beach chair or get a bit more formal sitting at white linen tables under the tent to get a break from the sun.

The Fun

You have something to drink. You have something to eat. You need something to do. The Seabourn crew has you covered there, too. They’ll bring out kayaks, snorkeling gear, tubes that get towed behind boats, and other water activities. There’s a volleyball court and beach games. Enjoy them all while local musicians deliver the jams. Bored, you will not be.
